Rocketman is a biopic music film from 2019 based on the music of Elton John’s life. Directed by Dexter Fletcher and written by Lee Hall, he plays Taron Egerton as John, with Jamie Bell, Richard Madden and Bryce Dallas Howard. The film follows John’s early days as a miracle at the Royal Academy of Music for his musical collaboration with Bernie Taupin. The film is named after the song John 1972 “Rocket Man.”

The development of the film began in 2001, when he went through studies, including Walt Disney Pictures and Focus Features, directors David LaChapelle and Michael Gracey, and actor Tom Hardy. After Hardy and Gracey left the project after the creative differences between Focus and John, who discontinued the first production launch in 2014, the project disappeared until April 2018, when Paramount Pictures took over the role of the distributor, and Egerton and Fletcher logged into the movie. The main photography began in August 2018 and was completed in the same year. John was executive producer, and David Furnish – Rocket Pictures, along with Marv Films Matthew Vaughna.
